The bus-network in Madrid is the biggest one in Spain, and one of the biggest in Europe, which is a good reason to travel by public transportation while you are in Madrid. The Madrid bus covers a huge area, bigger than the subway does. So you maybe get not as fast at your destination when you travel by subway, but you will be able to travel a lot further than underground.

The Madrid bus can take you everywhere and is quite cheap: €1 on all fleet lines. You can buy the tickets exclusively on the busses. The Madrid bus service is also transporting people at night, so you can always count on transportation. The bus to Madrid is also a good transport when arriving at the Airport.

All of the bus stations are providing local routes. When you want to leave Madrid by bus it gets a bit more difficult. Every bus station has its own connection to the surrounding cities.
