The Madrid Royal Palace is located in the western area of central Madrid. This is the biggest Royal Palace in Western Europe with almost 3000 different chambers.
It is possible to enter the palace of which 50 rooms have been opened for visiting. The high ceilings and decorations make every room an attraction.
The Madrid Royal Palace is the official residence of Juan Carlos, the king of Spain with his Royal family. But the Royal family chose to live in a bit more quiet area in the outskirts of Madrid. Though they don’t actually live there, the palace is still used for official occasions. On these events, the palace is closed for visitors!
